Preggo Belly

Here I am 15 weeks preggo. I didn't realize my belly was so big! :-)

Halloween

Today is Halloween and in true fashion we have to have the Halloween pictures. Garrett was a scary Freddy Krueger, claw and all. I love the pic of Maynard on the porch next to the pumpkin. It is GREAT! We had a great Halloween and we hope you all did as well!

Happy Halloween!

Billy Graham's Prayer For Our Nation

THIS MAN OF GOD SURE HAS A GOOD VIEW
OF WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR COUNTRY!

'Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your
forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know
Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is
exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual
equilibrium and reversed our values. We have exploited the poor
and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called
it welfare. We have killed our unborn and call ed it choice. We
have shot abortionists and called it justifiable. We have
neglected to discipline our children and called it building self
esteem. We have abused power and called it politics. We have
coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. We
have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called
it freedom of expression. We have ridiculed the time-honored
values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search
us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin
and Set us free. Amen!'

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program,
'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this
program than any other he has ever aired. With the Lord's help,
may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become
our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.'

Election

While much of our attention is fixed on who will lead our country come January, we must remember politicians come and go. But there is one leader who has, does and will stand the test of time: Jesus. As we set our sights on the future, let’s never forget on whom we need to fix our gaze. And let’s offer Him our one-of-a-kind devotion.

Another visit...

Well, Aaron and I went to see Dr. Dunn on Tuesday. Have I ever told you how wonderful my doctor is? When we got there she told me that I had been on her mind lately and she knew it must be about time for me to come in and see her. She asked me how I was doing and told us that she wanted this baby for us just as much as we wanted this baby. She is WONDERFUL! So, she decided to do an ultrasound. We were able to see how big the baby has gotten! He/she was kicking all around. I can't wait to start feeling those little kicks. It will be happening soon! YEA! :-)

So, since it is Halloween time Dr. Dunn was trying to get the perfect Halloween picture of the baby. I hope you enjoy the scary face our baby put on!
Baby McKim's scary face! :-)

My honey loves me!

The other day Aaron and I were on our way home from church and listening to some Randy Travis "Deeper Than the Holler". I told him that when we celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a big party that I was going to play that song for him. He then told me that he wanted to play a song by the DMB (Dave Matthews Band) for me. He told me the name of it and, but I didn't know the song. So when we got home he played it for me. It was the most wonderful thing and I teared up like usual. Read below the lyrics of the song. I truly have the most wonderful husband on the face of the planet! I am the luckiest girl in the world!

I walk half way around the world,
Just to sit down by your side.
And I would do most anything girl,
To be the apple of your eye.

Troubles they may come and go,
But good times they are the gold.
And if this road gets rocky girl,
Just steady as we go.

Any place you wanna go,
Know I'll be next to you.
If it's treasure baby you're looking for,
I'll search the whole world through.

Know troubles they may come and go,
But good times they're the gold.
So if the road gets rocky girl,
Just steady as we go.

When the storm comes,
You shelter me.
And I don't say a word,
And you know exactly what I mean.
In the darkest times,
You shine on me.
You set me free.
And keep me steady as we go.

So if your heart rings dry my love,
I will fill your cup.
And if your load gets heavy girl,
I will lift you up.

Troubles they may come and go,
But good times be the gold.
So if this road gets rocky girl,
Just steady as we go.

Our help is NEEDED!

October 6, 2008

Dear Friends,

Today was our first full day of mission work. I would like to share with you a typical day in Tinca. When I opened the door at the Isaiah Center, Sammy ran into my arms. His eyes are bright and his smile is contagious. He has long eyelashes and a dimple like my grandson Lukas has. Sammy is three years old. He is kept in the cellar at his grandparents house because they believe he and his brother have evil spirits. His uncle has sexually molested him several times in the last few months. Sammy\s brother Abel is 5 and his head has a gash where his uncle took an axe to it. His face and body are scarred from being beaten daily. He is the older brother so he takes more of the brunt of it. One night he was being beaten so badly he ran away in the middle of the night and came to the Isaiah Center. Because it is so dangerous after dark and Rachel is only allowed to keep him during the day ....she had to tell him that if he came back again at night he would not be allowed to return. He too sleeps in the potato cellar. I wish I could tell you that this is a rare case here but it is an everyday reality that hundreds upon hundreds of children live with. They show so much love even though they are beaten down every day. Abel becomes sullen when it is time to go to his Grandparents home at night. His personality changes completely.

We started our Vacation Bible School today. We took Polaroid pictures of each of the Roma / gypsy children today and it nearly became a riot. Most of them have never seen a picture of themselves. Families showed up begging us to take their picture. Christmas day could never be better than this. We fed them and they hid their sandwichs to get more food. Many of their parents come and take the food away. Some of them have parents that try but the situation is currently hopeless. They were dressed in sleeveless summer close on a 40 degree morning some had no shoes many were wearing flip flops. Most were dirty with head lice. The village has many people in horses and buggies. They were out gathering wood for their cooking fires. Their huts are barren with dirt floors. They hugged us as though no one had every shown them love before. It doesnt happen often here.

Our team returned to Caminul Felix the Happy Homes missionary house another great charity that is housing us and prepared for tomorrow. We gathered around to discuss the day and needless to say we wept the evening way. You cannot begin to understand the pain and suffering until you experience it.

Rachel is 28 years old and has taken dual citizenship to adopt beautiful Bella our enchanting Princess. She is a delightful 5 year old girl whom Rachel is adopting. Because of the embarrassment to Romania over what was happening to children in this country they have closed adoption to Americans so you must live here and take dual citizenship to adopt. Rachel has the 1st phase of the daycare center open with 6 children in daycare. Two of those children are Sammy and Abel. Rachel needs your prayers and she needs financial support. We can only change the generations of abuse and poverty one child at a time.
The Roma children do not have a chance here unless changes are made. We have to be their voice. Contact your congressman and senator. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS.

Rachels heart is broken daily but God builds her up and strengthens her to renew her battle each day one child at a time. Forget Me Not Ministries started by Rachel Ross has a vision to complete and open a 200 bed orphanage and day care center. PLEASE BE A PART OF THAT VISION! Pray and if you can donate whatever you can afford would be appreciated. It is desperately needed. If you cannot afford to donate it is ok just keep praying. I know many of you support other important charities too. But the vision of Sammy and Able will be with me the rest of my life. Even 5.00 can make a difference.

Forget me not ministries website is www.fmnministries.org

Love to all of you.

The prediction is we're having a.......

Okay, so Aaron and I went to the high-risk ob yesterday. His name is Dr. P, well he has a really long name that I can't spell so we will call him Dr. P. He is a great guy and funny. He said that he trained Dr. Dunn and had nothing but good things to say about her. He said that she was one of the smartest women that he knew and that she was doing everything possible to help us.

Okay, so our appointment was at 3:30, but we didn't go back until almost 5:00. Dr. P was walking out the door while we were sitting in the waiting room and told us that he would be right back because he had to go catch a baby. That made us laugh. :-) The ultrasound tech called us back and did the ultrasound. She gave us the following three pictures:
This is a frontal view of the baby (like you are looking down) and the twin sac
This is a 3D image of the back of the baby (baby's back, arm, leg, booty, and head)

This is the gender prediction of the baby. Can you read what it says? Boy parts!

The ultrasound tech that she was doing an experiment. She said that both male and female genitalia stick out at this age. She said that usually if it is a boy the genitalia sticks straight up and that if it is a girl the genitalia either slants or points down. So, we will see! Dr. P said it looks like a beautiful baby and that everything looks wonderful. He said it's probably a boy...he said he was just guessing, but that I looked like I made boys and that I looked like a soccer mom. I'll take it!

The baby measured a little bigger than my due date (due 4-24-09 measuring 4-23-09), but if this little one is anything like Garrett then it will be a big one as well. The baby's heartbeat was 182bpm and we saw him wiggling and dancing all around in there. It was great!

We go back to Dr. Dunn on 10-14 @ 5:00 for a visit. We also go back to Dr. P on 11-26 @ 1:00 for another ultrasound (where we should definitely be able to tell the sex of the baby) and a visit.

So, for now everything seems to be going splendidly! We will keep praying that God will keep His hand on me and this baby, that His plan will be the same as ours, that this baby will grow to be strong and healthy and that labor and delivery will be without complications. I know that God has us in His hands. That is the most wonderful place to be! I can't do this on my own so I am giving it up to God. Praise God that He is all knowing, all loving, all forgiving, all mighty!

Be blessed and be a blessing!
